# AI Crawlability

The degree to which AI crawlers (GPTBot, Google-Extended, PerplexityBot, ClaudeBot, etc.) can access, render, and index a website's content. If AI crawlers are blocked via robots.txt, meta tags, or server-level restrictions, the site has zero citation potential with those engines. AI crawlability is a prerequisite for any GEO strategy.

**Example:** A site that blocks GPTBot in its robots.txt will never be cited by ChatGPT, regardless of how well-optimised the content is. Verifying crawler access across all major bots is the first step in a GEO audit.
